06 Dodge Delayed Shift? Hunting?
06 Dodge Delayed Shift? Hunting?
Hey all,
New to diesels within the last year or so. I've got an 06 auto with what i would consider strange shifting patterns. I've searched the threads here and read a lot of good stuff but nothing really close to my exact issues. If there is a good thread already, lemme know. I believe im experiencing what some call "Hunting" but mine seems more consistent. I'll try to keep it short while hopefully providing enough details. If ya'll got any suggestions
Symptoms:
-Delayed shifting from 2-3 and 3-4 or 20mph and 30mph. When it does finally shift, RPMs are around 3000+ to 3500 and jolts forward (tailgating isnt an option in this truck haha). It is hunting at these same ranges
-When i can tell its delayed and getting to that 3k+ rpm mark, i can let off the accelerator and sometimes that helps it shift. I read somewhere its like driving an auto as manual but using the accelerator to shift. Pretty spot on for me and extremely annoying
-Loud engine or fan noise when 2-3 and 3-4 (Even for a dodge).
Truck came with a shift enhancer that i do not use regularly. Tried all the settings and nothing helped but maybe thats a hint to what the previous owner was trying to fix? Driving in Tow/haul helps minimize all these symptoms
Lemme know if anyone has any insight.
Much appreciated!
