05 fuel system problems

So as some of yall know I had problems with my truck, like some funny sounds out the exhausta nd hard starts.
Well I trailored it to the dealer monday and I got a call tis morning saying my fuel system needed to be replaced, the whole system, from injectors to fuel rail to pump. They said it was due to poor quiality fuel and they have seen quite a few lately. My estimate was a monster, over 5K, but they said my insurance will most likely cover it. Anyone had a similar problem?

Over the last few years been a fair number of posts here and on TDR about same deal.Just what the heck is the issue with the fuel? Water? Plus no water in fuel light warning coming on? Fuel needs to be sent to a lab for testting before I'd go much further.

Yea, i talked to my insurance and they reluctantly are going to get to the dealer "as quick as possible" a few weeks, they said then it will take 10 days or so for them to send off their fuel sample, oil sample, ect. The dealer told me he had done 15 rescently and most insurance companies had paid.

I donno if my insurance will throw a fit about my L tank, standyne additive in the fuel, or my BHAF, baldwin fuel and oil filters.

I have bought diesel from SantaFe New mexico to DFW, but most of it came from the same place in my hometown. Could just a few tanks of bad do it in or would it be my reagular supplier? My dad lost an injectro pump in a tractor a month ago and they said it was due to poor quailty fuel of course the tractor runs red and I run clear or green whatever it is, but they come from the same supplier
