05 Dodge 5.9 4x4
Hello all and glad to join the group! I just bought a used 05 Ram 3500 4x4 Regular cab. Love it big time! Just got through changing all the fluids. Did the tranny yesterday and adjusted the bands. I'm not a power crazy man. I'm happy with the stock stuff. I've been reading the forums a lot and noticed a lot about the 48re. With that said, anything unusually I should know about this particular year and anything I can do to help my cause with the tranny and any other area? Thanks for any input!

self help for 48RE life
Driving style....no smokey burnouts & since the trans fluid does not circulate in park drive away slowly when the ambient temp is cold or when pulling loads.
Temp Gauge....put some gauges on....boost - pyro - trans is all you need.
Keep power addders to 60 hp or less & roll into them....do not shock the driveline.
If your pockets are a little deeper an aftermaket valve body, converter & pan are all worthwhile upgrades but none are mandatory.
Keep the fluids clean & drive.
