05 4x4 Problem with idle, engine red lines!
Working on a 05 4x4 auto trans mega cab. In park the engine idles fine. You drop it into drive or reverse The engine tries to red line, you must hold the break hard or it will take off. If you don't touch the throttle and let off the break it will bark the tires and get up to 20ish MPH then everything is as normal as it could be. Then driving all is just fine until you have to stop at a stop light and the same thing over.
No codes, Fully stock truck, nothing but aftermarket wheels(but stock size). Always serviced by the book, had the factory 60k done about 7500 miles ago. So trans and fuel filters were done then. Never tows, just truck that is used like a honda.
Any Ideas, as to where to look. My first thought was an app sensor but I would think that would show up every time you let off the throttle......?

That was one of my thoughts also, but would that explain the engine red lining? It gives it more fuel, not just loading up in gear. It's like you try to power break when you go to do a break stand.
The computer will continue to add power to keep the RPM at idle speed. If the TC is partially locked it will cause a drop in the idle speed and the computer will compensate, thus more power.
I have had many a gasser manual trannys and I would leave in gear and brake to a stop and kill the engine. Did this one time on the '03 in third gear and almost went through the camp site when the computer kept adding more power. Only way I could stop it was to hit the clutch.
