'04 head/wiring harness on my '03
'04 head/wiring harness on my '03
My truck has production date of Dec 02. I was doing a coolant service on my truck (in sig) and decided to go ahead and replace the upper/lower hoses/thermostat/water pump as well as the coolant temperature sensor (CTS) while I was at it. Well, I bought a CTS for an 03 model (truck in sig) but the CTS was the wrong one, like WAY wrong. So, I looked up the CTS for an '04 model, and bam, right one. Now, the pitch thread is WAY different from the 03 to 04 CTS. 03 is like 1/4" pipe thread and the '04 is like 3/8" pipe thread. Also, teh harness is completely different to.
So, since the CTS threads into the cylinder head, and very unlikely the factory tapped and threaded my 03 head to just fit an 04 sensor, and very unlikely they would have cut and spliced the harness to put an 04 plug on it. So, do I have an '04 head andwiring harness? You think since I bought the truck used, head been swapped? If so, what then about the harnesss? It got changed also? I am just finding it hard to believe with a 12/02 MFG date, that they were already running out of 03 parts and had to start using 04 parts on my truck. Obviously it is possible.
Now, say I have an '04 head....anything different from the 03 to 04 heads? I guess we will call this a debate thread/opinion thread, and as long as MPG does NOT
get brought up in this thread, I am ok with it
