Question 04 automatic trans

I used to own a 02 dodge with a automatic trans when I bought it had 76,000 mile and a second trans put in it I got rid of it a couple of years ago. I'm looking at buying a 04 dodge cummins reg cab 2500 4x4 automatic with 60,000 miles on it i've been told by friends that the trannys are alot better when they switched to the new style in 03 but I want to get more input on them from people that drive them already thanks.

hack5732,
My 2004 truck has the 48 RE Trans with 50,000 miles. I also pulled my RV 10,000 miles. No problems with the Trans. Just keep it under 200 degrees and change the fluid as needed.

125000 mile(205000 km). Pull 14000lb trailer around town everyday, no slip yet.

2004.5 3500 dually, trans rebuilt at 35000 miles, now at 45000 miles. My trans does not give me any issues any more although it is a sloppy shifter.
