Reset the trip meter before taking off for my commute yesterday. It's about 12-14 miles round trip in light city traffic. Trip computer recorded 15.7 mpg. Mind you, this is with me shifting at 2000 rpms and feathering the throttle.

Then, when I got home, I had to rush out to the bank quickly, so I was getitng into it a little more including some 2700 rpm / high boost shifts in heavier city traffic. That was another 3-4 miles, mileage dropped to 15.4.

Both of those numbers are beter than the 14.9 I was getting on my drive back from Texas going 80-85 the whole way, but worse than the 16.5 I was getting in rural traffic (couple stop signs, back roads going ~60, passing on 2-lanes).

I was referring to mine having the bigger fill hole. I do think that the California trucks probably have the smaller ones...
