hi all,my 04.5 600 has a slight coolant leak at the lower rad hose.this is to be looked after at the next oil change.my question is what antifreezes meet the h.o.a.t requirements for these
engines?

 

I know the 05's have the orange coolent or the Dex-Cool 5 year, 150 thousand mile stuff. That's all I know, it's not the typical green glycol stuff.

 

Page 380 of the owners manual spells it out 5 year/100000 mile Formula HOAT Part Number 5011764AB or equivalent. I add emphasis on equivalent as it will definitely be cheaper than dealer price.

 

The extended life is best. Make sure you use the coolant conditioner every year. I use texico extended life in semi's and they advertise 1,000,000 miles change intervals when useing the conditioner every year. I have removed the head from some with over 800,000 miles and the rad and water jackets look like new and no corrosion.

 

i'am looking for an aftermarket antifreeze i.e:fleetguard,etc. i can get fleetguard es compleat extended life antifreeze at work and i'am wondering if it would work.

What is the type/brand of coolant conditioner you mentioned? There are many out there but I don't think much of them; sounds like you have positive experience that one works well.
