04.5 2500 Ram won't start.
Driving to work truck began to spudder and just died. Could not restart but turned over great. Replaced the fuel filter and started right up but died a few seconds later. I got it to start about a dozen times and it ran for a few seconds and then dies. Any ideas?
How do I check the injector pump?

Only way of checking the CP3, is with a scanner. If everything is on the up and up, it puts out around 3000 PSI cranking over, and around 24,000 psi wide open throttle. So don't attempt to crack any high pressure lines. What it sounds like to me is a dead lift pump. That year, they still mount them on the filter canister.
What you can try is cycle the key back and forth three times (don't start the truck, or rather turn the engine over). On the 3rd key cycle, look in the odometer window, and some P---- codes should come up. Write them down, then get back with me on this thread.

you need a fuel pressure gauge dude. Install it to sense the pressure between the filter cannister and the injection pump. If you don't get a solid 10-12 psi you need to figure out why.
Sounds like a lift pump to me.
I threw my stock pump away and went with the Holley under the frame and made a stainless plate to take the place of the stock pump so I could keep the filter, fuel heater and water drain functions of the stock housing.
No problems since then and it's been over a 100K miles.

Only code I have gotten is 628 I believe. I haven't got a pressure gauge and I still have the original configuration.
I'm going to see what I can do this weekend with it. I appreciate all the feedback.
