The 03 HO only came with a 6 speed early in the year, before the 48RE

I' m not sure about that. Our SO's are California emissions trucks so they came with 235hp, a CAT & a muffler. There is another version of the SO(non cali emissions) that has a higher HP rating. 2xx hp? For the life of me I can't remember the last two digits.

250 HP according to my brochure.

48re

a lot of them have a 48re case but 47 internals.

SO's were mated up to the 48re as well. Both of our SO's have the 48re. They were labeled produced as 03/03. I believe Dodge switched from the 47 to the 48re early year.

I also believe the piston cooler nozzles came in 04.5 and later. the only real difference is programming.
