I'm currently having the same issue. I have to keep my truck plugged in otherwise it will not start but turns.

I am betting it's injectors.. Need to have the injectors tested..

I am by no means a deisel expert but I am tellen' ya what my experience was.. We were working 80 miles from home and a freak snowstorm hit and I didn't have it plugged in took over 30 minutes of trying to get the darned thing to start.. Finally did.. It went to the dealer when we got home.

I thought it was my batteries at first and replaced those since they where hitting there 5th year. Even when its only 20-36deg outside it will not start unless its plugged in. I did get the error code p0336 a few times.

I'm going to have to check to see if any of this will be covered under my extended warrenty.

o-ring sealing fine on the filter housing???

have you eliminated thepossibility of the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail??

double checked all fuel line connections form the tank to the CP3???

fuel filter housing is not seeping fuel is it? maybe meaing a crack somewhere??

have you done anything around the CP3 lately liek disconnecting any lines, that might have not of sealed good?

slow,

You say there is a vacuum in your filter housing? How is that?? I'm missing something. 19 psi at the filter AND a vacuum in the filter housing. Where is the Walbro? Is it after the filter? What am I missing here? The Walbro should be back on the frame rail, near the tank. And everything beyond it, including the filter housing should be under pressure. And the 392 moves a lot of fuel. So it could easily have a vacuum in the line that feeds it from the tank. Or a leak in the fitting attached to it. Or a cracked pickup tube from the tank or something. Also, if you teed the return line into the suction line near the tank it would run fine under nornal conditions but be unable to clear air.

ok

here is the deal i have had the walbro lift pump on my truck for over a year now. With no problems untill two months a go woke up and would not start.
it is installed correctly with no leeks. it not the tank pick up tube, because i plumbed it to run off a 55g drum same problem. Grabed a bottle of soapy water sprayed the fuel filter housing lid no bubbles. take the lid off slowly and you hear the air and see the soappy water rush in the housing.

I will make that sucking sound when you break the seal. If you fire up the pump with the top off I bet fuel sprays everywhere. If you have 19 psi at the filter it would bleed itself out even if some air had leaked in. When I change my filter it only takes 5 seconds for my fass to refill and pressure the housing and it fires right up. I would bet your problem lies in the electronics, relief valve or injectors.

Maybe it's the check valve on the fuel return line that comes with the Walbro. Bad check or debris in it. This would let the fuel drain back to the tank slowly at night and be replaced with air. Sounds like it's not a suction leak but a return line leak or the check valve.

ok here is the deal

getting rid of the truck, fixed the problem wit a check vale, starts right up now. i have a dtt 47r tranny, tst with early twins flash, a smarty, and an sps66 with low miles never beat on, and a ats ext manifold. if any one needs these parts let me know. i will sell them very reasonable. but will need your old parts to but back in. everything is in good condition.

tranny has 5000 miles and there is about 7000 on turbo
