03 Ecm

My father-in-law has found a new 03 5.9 CR. Supposedly, the engine has 30 minutes of run time on an engine stand. He is thinking about this engine for a conversion. The engine is missing the ECM. What information would be needed to get a new one that would work on it. Where would we get it at? Does anyone have an approximate cost?

you would also need to know if its a 235hp or 305 hp engine, if i remember correctly those computers are $1000, maybe hard to program with out it being in a veh. also they may have a problem with programing the comp. in a veh. that did not come with that engine......emission violation!

We were thinking about putting it in an 2000 F350. I didn't know there was a 235 hp motor. What would it have been built for? I thought that they were all 305 hp. If it is a 235 hp motor, what is the difference? I would think that we would need an ECM programmed for a manual shift truck. Thanks for the replys guys. Any other info is greatly appreciated!!
