this isnt my truck thank the lord, but a pal of mine his 03 2500 dodge wont start, i did the code check routine, hold the trip meter reset down and turn the key fwd, c code 2758 poped up.....its all stock its a beat up ranch truck. Funny thing is we started it by push starting it w/ tractor, got it up to speed poped the clutch in 3rd and it started. The starter engages and and turns the engine over but it wont fire, damndest thing ive seen..any insight?

 

when you pull started i'm assuming it ran. if it did then either the injectors went and their letting diesel by or the rail pressure regulator (think thats what its called ) is bad

 

Clean the battery connections and charge the battery's first. Possible low volts to the engine computer not allowing it to fire up.

 

From what I have read and researched on this site, these 2003 trucks are famous for bad injectors causing a no start issue. Will it restart after you have ran it and shut it off?

 

i got a call from my pal earlier, the *********** there using, drown dodge in devine tx, wants around 3600 bucks to replace all 6 injectors thats w/ labor an all, thats just a qoute... as far as the injectors being bad. I doesnt dump diesel fuel into the oilpan, so theyre not hung open... im not saying that the injectors arent bad but once the truck is push started it runs like a champ, its got good power doesnt sound rough @ all. If its turned off it wont restart unless its pushed started. Thats all ive got to report as of now, so who knows whatll happen.

 

they dont always dump fuel in the oil. the 4 sets on 2 different trucks that i went thru did not let fuel in the oil they just let it bypass. he mite be able to get a set cheaper from diesel injection in San antonio

 

close to 6300 the dealership qouted for injectors and an injection pump, plus labor, although ether starts the truck that was found out, lol. The truck is getting sold, i believe the ol 12v they have is gonna be the haul truck for a little bit before another newer truck is bought. Case closed lol
