My 03 is the SO engine & 47re and the only thing replaced has been the LP (dealer did this when I bought it used so I don't know that it had gone bad yet or they were just being safe before reselling it) and the water pump @ 85k miles. I pull a 11k 5er and have had no problems at all, although I do plan on adding a Smarty Jr sometime soon just for the extra HP while towing. Mileage is 14-15 city & 19-20 highway plus 12-13 towing. Not bad for a 4x4 auto I think.

ya milage is really turning me on to this yr. plus im going to get a six speed even if i have to go to TX to get it. from the sounds of it no one has had any major issues with them. i tow 10k-15k regularly and im known to load way more then i should in the bed, mine has done great with this just time to upgrade. want the 4 doors. really like what im reading about the smartys, just got to figer out gages, exost, intake ex. before i start adding in some major power. i see alot of people with a 5" exhost, is there a reason or just cuz they can?

Just cause we can, no major reason to go 5" unless your 700-800hp+.

i really havent set a hp goal, i need my truck to be able to tow with no worry, and like the feel you get with a compound turbo setup, so probibly as high as i can go with the compounds and still keep everything in check for towing.
