Is it an exhaust leak or manifold leak??

Hey Guys,
Been awhile since I have had any issues. Lately, my truck developed a strange new noise while driving. The noise only occurs at highway speeds above 50mph at this point. It gets louder and more frequent as speed increases. Also, it only does it once the truck has warmed up a bit. It sounds like a loud popping noise (like popcorn sounds in the microwave) from the front of the truck. Could it be an exhaust leak or manifold leak? This is my best guess. The sound reminds me of a gasser truck that has any exahust leak. It appears to gradually be getting worse. No loss in performance at this point and No codes. Has anyone else had this issue or had an exhaust leak? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - Chris

If you only hear noise when moving it could be front hub bearing or ujoints. Does noise change when making turns left or right? I would first jack front wheel off ground stick some jack stands under axle and spin front wheels and listen for any noise. Stick a bar under wheel and lift up to check if any play is in the bearing. Check the front axle ujoint for play when front wheel are off the ground.
Exhaust leaks whould be loudest when you at wot and check for loose bolts or missing bolts on the exhaust manifold. If leaking you should see black soot around manifold area usually on the head. The bolts to the rear of engine #6 cylinder could come loose if the metal straps that secure bolts is missing.

New ujoints and bearings within the last 3000 miles. Sounds like something from the motor.

The fan hub bearing will make that noise also. This is the bearing that the fan clutch attaches to it's bolted to front of the engine.
