I haven't replaced the windsheild in my dodge yet,but have replaced windshields in my 56,77 and 78 cars. The outside strip could be purchased at a windsheild shop. Two tubes of sealer should be way more than enough.

Yes they are glued in...Thats what the sealer is for....Make sure to get windsheild sealer from a shop...Not the stuff that aftermarket part stores sell.

once you get the old one out, it's a piece of cake. be sure you clean the old sealer off . i wouldn't do it outside in the cold......the trim should be replaced every time the glass is changed.

How much is very little? My windshield cracked last winter, and it cost me $225 labor and glass to replace mine. I am sure you could do it yourself, but for no more than that, it was worth it to have a pro do it, and have a warranty against leaks.

Second that. Cheap enough that I figure why mess with it myself and break it.

Watch out for bargains at the windshield shops. The sealer used has a short shelflife and old sealer won't adhere well and could cause you serious injury in a roll over. The windshield, properly installed with fresh sealant, is a vital part of the structure of the cab.
Fresh sealant is around $30 a tube.
