Wheel backspace ?

I'm looking at a set of Eagle alloys for my 95 4WD.The wheels are 16x8 with 4" backspacing.Would the 265/70/16 work on an 8" wide wheel? Would they stick out from wheel wells? I haul a slide in camper while pulling a boat and have heard that if the wheel sticks out to far that it will place undue stress on rear axle bearings.

You need more backspace to keep the wheels under the wheel wells. I have 4 5/8 and that is not enough, I think the factory used nearly 6"
