What the heck is!!!

What the heck is the little electrical doomahicky mounted on the rhs inner fender directly behind the air filter box on my 1999 Ram 3500 (about 2 1/2 " x 1 1/4" with a curcuit board, and looks like it has an adjusting screw in it ).

It has fallen out of it's holder. I can't seem to get it to stay in it's mating plastic box/holder. Does it glue/snap in or are some clips broken?

Thanks

Peter

I can't really recall anything mounted in that area, except the PCM which is larger than you describe. Can you post a picture?

If I remember correctly, the adjustable box would be the "fooler" for the PCM to keep it from seeing the high line pressure in the tranny, so it doesn't set a code (if your tranny is non-stock). This is adjustable where the filter doesn't have any adjustment to it. Both come from DTT. I don't know if anyone else makes them.

Here is a photo of this thingamagig!

It may be an aftermarket part, as my truck (I just bought it two weeks ago) does have a rebuilt transmission with some beefier parts, converter, DTT electric transmission controller and an exhaust brake.

Any guesses.

How do I get it to stay in it's plastic holder/mounting box?

Cheers

Peter

Yep it's definitely aftermarket, but I'll let the others determine exactly what it may be. If I was trying to hold it together, I think I'd just heat up my electric glue gun and put a tiny discreet dab of glue in a couple spots around the edge.

Looks like it was glued together when it was made..
Can you see any wires going to the box??

Yes , the curcuit board side has wires to it. That's(the wires) what is holding it up.
