water temp, block heater

If I plug in my block heater 2 or 3 hrs will this give me some water temp sooner so i can get some heat?

Yes plugging your truck in for 2-3 hours will help with the heat, but not much. Try putting a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. This will help the truck warm up faster. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge. ;D

Was about 30 here last night; was plugged in for 3 hours before I left for work, had 60 degree air within one minute of starting truck. You still have to drive to get "hot" air, but, it does make a big difference and you get air that is 30 to 40 degrees above ambient almost immediately. Of course, if it is -10 outside, then 40 degrees above ambient would still be pretty cool air!
