water leak
water leak
i'm looking into the purchase of a '95 reg cab. the previous owner mentioned it leaks water into the passenger floorboard. i pulled up the mat and sure enuf, there was quite a puddle of water. is this a common problem? any ideas as to where to begin looking for the leak?
Re:water leak
I would check the gasket around the 3rd brake light on top of the cab. I've had one leak there. For some reason, it geos straight to the passenger side floorboard. Stangest thing.

You can also check the drain for the A/C. Sometimes those can get clogged up. A few guys have taken a 5/8 heater hose 90* elbow and installed in on the drain to allow the water to drip straight down instead of having a chance of it being blown back towards the cab.

My first choice is the light gasket though. If you can, get a cup of water and pour it around the 3rd brake light, if any of it goes behind the plastic cover, that should be the problem.

(in case you don't find any obvious places the water is coming in from...)

Tony
