Vent Control

I got into my truck the other day and turned on the A/C and it came out of my defroster vents, I turned it back off and on about 4 times but nothing, I even tried to switch it to defrost or legs then back to vents, but nothing....

Eventually it came back on, once I started driving for a while

So my question is what do i have to replace or is their a cheap fix or a secret trick to fixxing this problem???

I was at the dealer the other day, talked to a guy with the same problem. They had it fixed in about 20 mins. Not sure what was done. From my understanding it's something simple to fix.

This is covered quite alot.. did ya search?

Most likely, it's a vacuum hose in the engine compartment. With no vacuum, the HVAC system defaults to the defrost vents. Check that first, then move inside... I've heard of people having their vacuum line get a wee bit too close to the turbo and melt.

Cool

Yea I searched but its hard when you don't know the technical name for what your searching for...

Plus this new search engine is pretty picky on your search phrases...

Buy yourself a vacuum pump with gauge from the autoparts and find where the leak is. You can check all the different vacuum circuits from one spot, drivers side rear towards the hood by disconnecting one hose at a time.
