valve stem extenders on a dually

Tired of screwing around with the valve stems -- even the inch-and-a-quarter extenders you can pick up at Wally World are a . Anyone have a solution? Didn't I once see some permanent flexible rubber valve stems that could be clipped on the outside wheel? Maybe five or six inches long?

They do make them and Camping World has them, but they also throw off the balance?

The stock ones for my truck are like 2" long. Still a PITA. When it needs tires it will get rigid mount stems instead of the rubber stems. Then with the extensions it should be OK, but not great. The outer wheel witht he rubber core likes to play flippy flyer when you try to engage the dual foot chuck. I've asked friends that runfleets of duallies and this is about hteir best solution. The long (5-6") extensions havbe their own problems.

I run the brass stems with the nut holding the in, works good, and under higher pressures the rubber stems can blow out. Course I use mine heavier than most.

My sons truck has the extenders that hook to the valve stem and the other end fastens to the center wheel cover. A real pain when rotating tires though, unfastening both of them and then getting them positioned so they will both bolt up again. I wouldn't have them..

I run the extenders like those from camping world...the sure are handy, but can be hard on the valve stems...I have had a few flats just because of that.

With that in mind, I am still runningthem and figure I always will, but will look for stronger valve stems next trip to the tire shop.
