Vaccuum Pump

Me thinks mine has given up, no control response on dash controls, no E Brake, have checked for bad hoses/connections and cant seem to locate any problems there. Is there a tester availble to check and if the pump is bad is it a difficult job to replace? Hoping it is not a problem up inside the dash someplace.

Vaccuum pump checks out OK, I think the problem is under the dash, can't wait for that project.

If your truck is a 4x4, check the vacumn lines running to the transfer case and front end. I know there are lines that run there but not much more info since I have a 2x4. Take a breathe and back away from the dash till all other options have been exhausted Good luck.

Common vacuum leaks are an acid rotted vacuum hose to the cruise control actuator under the driver's side battery, the hose though the firewall into the cab melted by the turbo and hoses accidentally unplugged near the fuel filter during a filter change.

Check where vacumn line runs across firewall and turns down to go into cab. Mine rubbed through on trans fill tube.

Problem fixed, sorry for delay in posting, dont always check website, found a broken tee and everything works again, actually was finally my turn to have something on this truck be an easy fix. Lately the repairs have been expensive and frustrating.

Where was the T located exactly? Would be nice to know. Can you determine what caused the break?

The fragile tee that I know of is near the brake master cylinder.

Thats the one, near the master cylinder, that was bad, had to be a bit more aggressive to id the crack, looked at it several times before I found it - it was just a hairline crack that looked like the Az dry climate won. You guys up north or back east get rust, we get dry rot.
