Under hood insulation?

Where is a good place to get under hood insulation for 1999 3500 4x4? My clips are there but no insulation or sound barrier.

I have ordered a LMC catalog for some of the fasteners and things.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave! IIRC, the LMC catalogue lists the under hood insulation piece. I found a pristine insulation piece at the pick and pull in Lake Havasu City, clips were bought at NAPA and I also installed some sound deadening material that I purchased from LMC. These things combined went a long way towards quieting down the cab a bit.

Cheers!

Mike

www.clipsandfasteners.com has all the stock style clips at pretty reasonable prices...example: the dealer wants $3 bucks each for those christmas tree clips for the door panels, I got a bag of 12 for 6 bucks at the above site.

I recently replaced the liner on my 99. The clips I used were about 2" round for a GM. Inch size, not the later metric. Better support than the originals. Bag of about 25 from ebay.

I see lots of 2nd gen trucks in the Pick and Pull junkyard near me. You could probably find insulation there and not pay a lot for it.

If you look at the hood, there are more holes than what they give in the insulator. Don't be bashful to use all of them. That's a lot of liner with minimal support.
