Under Hood Insulation ?

My factory " under the hood mat " has a bad case of the sags. Any good replacement options without going with another factory mat ?

Just take it out. My 2004 never had one.

Dodge went cheap in 1998 and eliminated the insulation along with many other features.
Maybe that's why the 24 valves are so much louder than the 12s.

Is it saggy or torn loose from the plastic holders?

It just sags between some of the clips---I put new clips in but didn't help---I saw someones photos here a couple of years ago of a after-market insulation or sound proofing product that they changed to but can't find them now---it seemed to be a firmer mat than the original and had a silver/aluminum outer cover.

I'm interested in finding something too. My hood insulation is fine, but packrats got to the firewall insulation. Lot louder in the cab now, but I can't find anything that will hold up to the underhood temps.

Check this out http://www.jcwhitney.com/heat/sound-.../p2010475.jcwx

I've used it before and was happy.

That looks like it would work perfect. Everything else I'd found was only for interior use. Thanks Infidel.

Wow, that looks nice. Is it a kit we can buy or did you custom cut it and clued it down? Does is lesson the sound to the point where it is worth the cost (subjective, but you know what I mean )

My 94 did not have insulation. I got it from a 1500 and installed it into my 2500. It made NO difference in noise. I get complaints about the rattle all the time when I pull up into peoples drive. I may toss it because I like the clean painted look. A new headliner, cloth seats, carpet and rear wall insulation helped alot. All that was in cab though.
