Troubleshooting 99 Ram Electric Door Locks

My driver's door lock switch does not work. Right door works fine, lock and unlock, and key FOB also locks and unlocks both doors. I have pulled the switch set out of the driver's door and have power going through the switch, out to pink/purple strip, and orange/purple stripe, depending on which way I am pushing the button.
I was thinking a broken wire of the two I just mentioned, but I think it is less likely that both wires are broken than just one, and if only one wire was broken wouldn't I have either up or down on that switch?
I have pulled the rubber conduit from the door side and what wires I can see in there look fine.
I'm starting to think that whatever break there is will be inside the insulation and I will have to track it down by probing the wire every so often along the length. Hate to punch holes in good wire insulation though.

Ideas appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
