Track Bar rebuild

How has the Luke’s Link’s heavy-duty kit to rebuild the trackbar on '94-'02 Dodge's worked for you? Anyone used this kit with good results?

Never done it but I understand it ONLY works if the joints are good...it will not fix one with damaged ends.

I put one on my 95, working fine so far- not sure if there is a heavy duty special lukes link as I just ordered 8 of them and did 2 trucks and my track bar in one evening. Im not 100% sold on the idea as the lukes link exposes the ball to the elements

I have luke's links on the whole front end. If i had to do it again I would install one on the track bar, but might try to find a T style system to replace the stock Y style steering system.

LL is a product that has some how gotten a bad rep w/some people. Put one on my truck years ago, forgotten how many, fixed my shimmy for about $60 instead of $100s tried to adjust it this summer but it wasn't needed. If I had to do it again I would.

Luke's are an excellent product, had them on my 4wd for at least 150k miles without problem.
Helps to have a vice and angle grinder to do the install.

I do have a vice and several angle grinders. What part wasn't fitting for you?

You need the grinder to cut the back off of the socket. Maybe 60 seconds of grinding and you should be able to tap the ball out with a brass hammer.

yup, just grind until you see the seam show up and then pound the ball out- clean it up and start dropping the parts in! Just dont do what my friend and I did, we pulled off everything and ground all the joints out and then mixed up a few of the ball's and during install one Ball was larger than the rest I think we found its org home but not sure. Thankfully the Truck drives fine and no death wobble even at the govener in 5th

I've decided to put on Luke's link on my track bar. Got ball joint end off but axle end won't budge. I've used impact wrench on it and it just won't break it loose. Any suggestions?

Trying to install it back on the truck after I've rebuilt it. I had helper turn wheel all the way to the right and ball stud still won't line up with the frame.
What do I do?

Did you keep the tires on the ground the whole time you were working on it?
If it was jacked up without the trackbar connected the whole front will shift a lot.
I've never had to deal with this problem myself but have read here about people using a com-a-long to shift the axle back into place.
The key to avoid this is leaving the tires on the ground.

Truck was on the ground whole time. I was turning wheel to the right. Ive read that it has to be turned left, I'll try that.
I don't have anything to tie come-a-long to.

I got it figured out. I had to turn steering wheel all the way to the right and ball joint still was off. So I had to shift weight to the drivers side. I lifted truck with jack and it shifted enough for me to slide ball joint into the frame. I've test driven it and steering wheel feels much firmer and not as wobbly. I still havent driven it at higher speed. I'll get alignment and that should take care of it.
