Tailgate Plastic
the plastic on the back of our truck, on the tailgate the big ugly piece, is it possible to take that off? I think it would make our truck look a lot better. just wondering if it was held on with 3M tape or what.

With it off be careful opening your tailgate when the bumper is covered with frozen road grime. It will hit the tailgate and scratch it up pretty good. I've often thought this is the whole reason for the plastic, to protect the gate.

I havent had any problems with it, I put my business logo on my tailgate so if it was hittin the bumber it would have rubbed that decal off. But of course I don't deal with Montana winters either. Road grime to you is a couple of feet of ice and snow on the bumber that lasts for 6 months out a the year.

On my dark purple colored truck I like the looks with it off, I think it cleans them up the cluttered look a little on the rear end. It really didn't show up that much any way, but I gree that on lighter colored trucks they do look better with the strip. The plastic strip and dealership logo were the first thigs off this truck after I brought it home, and then some months later put my trailer business logo on it the gate. Now pretty quick here this gate is getting traded in for the 5ver gate, guess I'l have to move my billboard to the rear window.
