Will this newer style fit on my '01?

I kinda like the looks of that cap. I'll probably try to find someone with that style and see if I can try it out on my truck. Just wasn't sure if it would even fit. I know the lug pattern is the same just not sure if there will be any gaps around the hub area. These are the wheels I have.

They will work, but you might have a problem on the rear axle. Some axles stick out further than others.

See here:

I have steel rims. I bet they are more likely to work on the aluminum rims which are thicker. See if you can find one and test fit it.

it will fit, but you'll need to trim about a 1/4" off the bottom edge for a flush fit. i ran them on my 2nd gen stock wheels. looked pretty cool.

You would need to get longer lug nuts or they will come off while driving.

they clip on the same. i ran them for over a year after i powder coated my stock wheels. never had an issue. and that was with driving from co to nd every 3rd wks. maybe they worked because i trimmed them instead of getting longer lugs?

Possibly. I know that my 2nd gen caps will not reach on my 3rd gen wheels and my 3rd gen caps will grab, but not hold on to my 2nd gen wheels.

It just is a drag to see one go flying off the side of the road!!

So if I used a wide belt sander to shorten them instead of cutting and trimming it should leave me with a cleaner and factory looking fit and finish?
