Shocks don't affect weight capacity.

What is your question?

I agree, get the Bilstein's. I bought some $30 shocks at Adanced Auto and after two months they started clunking everying I hit a small bump. Going to get some Bilstein's before camping season.

The listing for your year and driveline is the stock height shock, if its for a modified truck it will state what it fits in inches over stock.

KYB are also good, but I went with Les Schwab's version of gas shock, they are made by Monroe and have a lifetime warranty. Dad's got Bilstein's on his 94 and I can't tell the difference, except he's on his second set.

The previous owner installed "Reflex" shocks on mine, not sure how long they been on there. I guess they are alright... I like bilsteins, but not the price.....

I've had good luck with Monroe's gas charged option, I think they were something like $45 each, similar to stock. Pretty sure they are monroe anyhow, they are yellow and from NAPA. I have 50k/3 years on them and still as good as when I got them.

I have those on my truck, but it does ride harsh. The previous shocks gave a silky smooth ride compared to them. Of course, they were so worn out that they freely traveled.
I think I will try Bilsteins the next time. I know that a 3/4 ton truck will only ride so smooth, but these Monroes are pretty rough.
Every time I cheap out, it costs more. You think that I would learn.
