Steering Stabilizer Question
I have noticed small "jerks" in the wheel while driving at various speeds, usually 30-45. They seem to be induced by the road and are not really troublesome but lead me to believe that my stabilizer may be needing replacement or an upgrade. I have had my lift 2 years and kept the factory stabilizer. My truck is just over 2 years old with 40k. The lift included gas charged shocks but I did not replace the stabilizer. I also seem to drift a bit and have to correct the truck sometimes due to this but it does not pull like an alignment issue. Just started to notice this.
Any advice appreciated,
THANKS!

I haven't actually replaced mine yet, at 93K, but I don't have any weird steering problems either, even with 305/70's.
I was thinking about it a while back, and when I asked most people said that the only thing a dual stabilizer will do for you is make your wallet a little lighter, unless you just have to have that "look". I understand the installation for duals can be a real pain as well.
This has convinced me, when I actually replace mine, to just get a single, Rancho or something of quality.

Single stabilizers are fine for most folks but if you get into offroading with oversized tires duals are better.
No need for anything fancy a stabilizer is a stabilizer, I always use the Heckethorn brand, about $30 at most autoparts. Getting the old one off isn't always as simple as it looks, most times you need a pitman arm puller.
