Steering gear box replacement -need advice

Hey you all - I need to replace the steering box on my 2000 CTD 4x4 w/265K miles. I have a Thuren (just rebuilt) track bar with a DSS steering stabilizer running 285/16 DuraTracs. Steering has been adjusted in the past and is now scary to take out on the hwy- my bass boat steers better LOL!

Any hoo- need your thoughts/experiences/opinions on which gear box to replace with for long term--- as i can't afford to replace Ole' Besse (had her since she was new in fall of 1999)!

I think my steering shaft is ok and if i understand it right i will need to replace it with also with a Borgeson box replacement. Redhead as i understand will bolt right up.

Your thoughts on all three replacement options i mentioned are requested!!!

I've had my RedHead box since late last year and have no complaints! Makes a huge difference in the drivability of the truck. I was going to buy the Borgeson box, but at around $600 for box and shaft, it just wasnt in the budget! Dont really think you can go wrong with either option as they are both going to be a HUGE improvement over stock. Good luck!
