Unhappy Squeak under dash

I have a irritating squeak at slow speed under the dash on the drivers side. Some times I think it is around the stearing post and it does not seem to squeak when you are going straight or your speed is up but a very slight turn makes it squeak. I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 Diesel. Any help would be helpful. It is driving me crazy.

If your truck is an auto. - when at low speed try shifting into 2nd . I had a similar squeak which turned out to be the tranny shifter linkage. If shifting or moving the shifter works - lube all parts of the linkage to tranny. Dont know which part was squeaking because I lubed the whole thing at once....

It is most likely the shaft that mounts to the body and trans (connects the column & valve body linkage together). Lube both end bushings well and the squeak should stop.

I have the same truck and had the same problem. It wouldn't make any noise if I was going straight but at slow speeds like an on or off ramp from freeway it would squeek. Dealer relpaced the steering shaft and the problem went away. Though it was still under warranty.
