Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I am rebuilding a 2000 for my dad. It had a front end collision, so I will add the sport headlights to my parts list and give him better lighting.

I just completed my Sport headlight conversion the weekend before memorial, a few things I should add to this thread:
1. Go with the bright box from Genos, makes it a easy plug and play setup
2. Go with OEM sport lights, I got stung with the Depo's as my drivers side leaks water inside and is all fogged up- no warranty threw headlight depo or amazon where I purchased them. Plus, the beam pattern is better with the OEM lens as the Depo's throw a lot of light out sideways and have a "spot" pattern rather than a bright flood pattern.
But even with a fogged up drivers side light and the lower quality Chinese lights (not bulbs) they are a million times better than the silly 45W low beam on the 9004 stockers.
Bulbs I used:
Low beam outside= Phillips Xtreme power 9007
High beam inners= GE nighthawk 9004
Bright box throws both bulbs onto there high power high beam filament when high beams are on

Great Job!

Good job...thanks for the extra tips. This job has got to be on the short-list for all of us! I'll look for your truck at the old Zig Zag Pizza when we're down skiing Mt Hood.

Regards,

Steve

Just an update- DO not buy the Headlight depot lights!!!! Mine has a leak and filled with water, then fogged up. They will not replace it even though this happened in the first week of use and only 9 days after purchase! Purchase the OEM Ram 1500 lights as they don't leak, the beam pattern is much better! Looks like the only way to get there attention is to do a stop payment on my visa for the one that's leaking? Here is our awesome conversation with the beginning at the bottom. Pretty nice eh?

------------- Begin message -------------

We received your picture. We did NOT see any water building up at the bottom or standing water inside the headlight. As we discussed before, moisture is normal for new headlights. If it has rained in your area lately, water may have come into the headlights through the vent. It may have to be dried out to remove all the moisture.

I have not been able to un install the light to get the ID number yet, but
here is a picture of the water and moisture.
Thanks, Joe

Just wanted to update you that the water is still inside the light, even
with 1 week of 80F temps, small pool of water in the bottom of the light
from last weeks rain.

Is there water building up inside the headlights, like a puddle
at the bottom? The headlights are vented, so rain can come inside the
headlight and it must be dried out. The vents are there to remove any trapped
humidity over time. There is a break-in period of 30-60 days until the vent
system is fully operation. Some humidity is normal for new headlights. This
is according to the manufacturer. It is due to the variance in temperature
between inside the headlight and outside. It will alleviate itself after
the break-in period. If it does NOT, or if water builds up inside the
headlight, please let us know. Thanks, Martin --- Original message --- Listed

Not that it’s of any consolation but I had some condensation build up in one of mine at some point. It was long after I had bought them. Anyway I pulled the lamp, dried it out and figured out it was leaking around the seal between the lens and the housing. I bought some Permatex® Flowable Silicone Windshield & Glass Sealer and sealed up the seam.

I haven’t had a single problem sense then. Sure it shouldn’t have leaked to begin with and yes you are probably better off buying the OEM version. But yours is fixable with just a little time and very little cost on your part. If you are interested anyway.
