Sport headlight foggy lens cleanup options

I never understood why they didn't make the Sport headlight lens material out of the same stuff as the running light/turn signal lens sitting right next to it. The head lights are forever wanting to fog up but the running lights still look brand new.

What has anyone used to de-fog their Sport headlight lenses? I know there is stuff out there but I really dont care to spend money on something that isnt isnt going to work good or may potentially make things worse.

I have heard that toothpaste works pretty well on a cotton wheel.

The Flits stuff worked on my sisters jeep Grand Cherokee.

I would also try waxing them with a good finish wax like Meguir's or something after you get them cleaned. This may help.

You mean you want to clean up yellowing/hazing?
Try Meguiar's PlastX, it works great.

Yes. My lights aren't completely fogged up but some of the top edge and a little in the main area is looking hazy and a little yellow. I've cleaned them up before with some metal polish but doesn't last long. If there was a way that they would stay nice longer.....

Use PlastX and if you have buffer, it will work great. You can even buff it out with terry towel/rag by hand but it will take longer.

Mother's makes some stuff that cleans them up very well. Uses a small buffer on a drill motor.

I use Meguirs meduim-cut cleaner, very gritty. Then after few minutes switch to dual action cleaner polish. After this I use Quixx lens/plastic sealer to protect the lens from UV damage and turning yellow again. I have found this combination to work better and much faster than the lens polish kits that I have found to be mostly marketing gimick. For 30$ I can do all my cars for the rest Of my life as well as all my nieghbors and friends cars, or I could buy a "Lens Restoration Kit" 20 to 25$ that will do maybe 4 lens. Hmmm which should I choose. Marketing men and thier unethical practices are makeing us mindless consumers.

Katoom I agree completely why the manufacturers can't make a proper headlight lens to begins with.

I wet sand mine with 1500-2000 grit paper, then buff them out with some 3m Rubbing compound with a electric buffer, they last about 4-5 months before you have to buff them again.
