Spicer parts and my front end

I had upper and lower ball joints on both sides and the trackbar replaced with Spicer parts. The trackbar only had 15K miles according to records! What are some opinions on the quality of Spicer parts over the cheap parts I can get at the local parts store? Is it worth the extra expense? How much is a fair price for parts/labor to have this work done?

No doubt I had front end problems and I am happy to have everything nice and tight now, but was all that neccisary?

Check out lukeslink.com. My dad has one on his 95 cummins, I am soon to get one. We also sell and install them here at the chrysler shop I work in, it goes on the factory trackbar end, you grind the old ball joint out and install the lukes link, and it is fully adjustable, so if it gets loose again, you just tightem it, great system and a good price, install is not too hard either. Just have to make sure you get one for a 2500 as 1500 are different. I dont know if they can be installed on an aftermarket trackbar though.

for the time it takes to install a lukes link , go get yourself a lifetime warranty Napa track bar , and be done with it.

I was wondering myself. I was told today that I need 2 ball joints, track bar, & a steering box. My trunk only has 62k on it & I plan on keeping it. I heard the bit on the napa track bar, but any thoughts on the other parts? The truck has gotten not too fun to drive. Thanks.

The Spicer parts are lifetime parts which I believe were purchased through NAPA. Not sure all the ball joints had to be replaced, but the truck sure is nice and tight now.

Total cost for parts and labor was $520. Seems high to me, but then again I'm as frugal as possible in most cases. At least now I will never have to purchase those parts again.
