We just did mine with Moog ball joints k7394/k7397 , ac delco axle u joints 45u0301,AC delco rotors 18A1090A

I already did the steering box, box brace, and newer tie rods listed above, and new track bar with urethane bushing, I have only driven a few times local but seems as good as its going to get, I did have the drivers tie rod break on me while making a turn it was like a year old?

What's the deal with newer ball joints?, the moogs were a mother to put uppers in and we have another truck to do

The only thing I found bad in my front end was the lower ball joints but did it all while apart, everything off amazon with free shipping with prime, shopped around they had cheapest prices

The ball joints are REALLY tight to get in. I tried the tried and true hammer method that has worked for years with no luck. I ended up going to a Mil surplus store and getting the mother of all C-clamps. This thing has 11 inches of opening weighs about 20 lbs and the screw part is inch and a quarter. I think it was used for tank treads or something. That and a 2 inch impact socket worked like a dream. I gues I could have actually gotten the right tool from a truck repair place...but what fun would that have been.

Good to hear. I was talking about this issue with a friend the other day. He asked me why no one uses the same stock ball joints, especially if they've lasted 100k some miles. I didn't really have a good answer for him. Does anyone else know? I'd just really like to figure this out so I can get mine done.
After the track bar I installed it started driving like crap again. Still feels like the truck is fishtailing when changing lanes. I thought it was better when I first did it, but if so it's defiantely back now.

Rat farts!

Well I thought I was going to bite the bullet and buy some Dynatrac ball joints but the joke is on me. I don't even see where Dynatrac makes ball joints for a 2002! Or Carli either! I guess I'll do some calling tomorrow and see what they all say. Can't believe it. Just my luck I suppose. So I guess I'm back to square one of trying to pick some out.

On a better note, I installed my Hell Bent Steel steering box brace and sway bar drop bracket. I don't know that I'd say it's perfect, but it certainly is a lot better! Phew! I'm so glad. About time. Now just to, hopefully, get the new T style tie rod assembly on tomorrow. Thanks for listening to my rant.
