Something loose under passenger floorboard??

I have a 98 4x4 that in the passenger's floorboard it feels like the front wheel is about to come off. Could it just be a bearing or a hub or something along those lines? I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Could be worn bushings on the control arms. My 99 is doing that a little too.

What is the best way to find out? And this is pretty bad everyone that rides in the passenger seat complains.

See if the top and bottom bars that run to the fromt axle have and back and forth or up and down action.

I thought I would just give my 2 cents worth. I would look at all the suspention and steering components and try to rule out things one buy one. I don't know what you have for power or if you tow a lot. One thing I was told buy a Dodge guy to look for on the second gens was the passenger side body mount. If the truck has power upgrades or has worked hard towing this will crack. The crack can go right up the firewall!
If you can try to see if there is a patern to the noise. like it only hapens when the front of the truck goes straight up and down after a bump or when going around a corner or only when you don't listen for it.

Also might want to try tightening your shocks and shock mounts. If the shocks are old/bad, then you might try replacing them also. I've had one bad shock (although brand new outta box) that made a similar noise as yours.

don tknow if it will help, but i had an annoying deal which was felt in the cab, i could not find it from casual looking, finally one day i was mad enough to seriously go on a search. i found a small rock inside the cups of the rear cab mount. i dont kow how it got in there, but it was not easy to get out, but it solved the problem of the week for me.

The front cab bushing are TIGHT. I have been trying to get them off because the mounting brackets for some nerf bars are still on there, but I have tried everything to get them off so I think it may be something else.I am going to get some new shocks this week.So maby that will fix it.

my 98 is doing the same thing, I could push down on the front bumper and hear a ting sound, so I had some one else push on the bumper while I investigated. Stuck my hand on the shock and everytime I heard the noise the shock would jump. Tightend the bolts had the noise has gone away but, still get vibration in the cab. I think the bushing wore out in the shock, Guess whats on my christmas list

Careful with that DD4x4 name calling there, the original DD4x4 may have copyrights on the name.
