slightly lower fuel mileage recently

Lately i've been noticing that the overhead console has been reading lower then normal (instantaneous). the weather hasnt changed yet, the tires arent low, and my driving habits havent changed. for what reasons could my mileage be going down unexpectedly?

First item up for check is the fuel filter. How long since last filter change. Then its on to the air filter, clean of change it as required. Those are the first two steps in any vehicle reporting lower MPG. After that take a good look at fuel pump presure. If its on the way dowm it can hamper MPG. But the first bet in my book would be a nasty tank of fuel got the fuel filter flowing low.

Some states switch to winter fuel about this time of year... That would drop a couple mpg.
