sagging front bumper

i've noticed that on alot of 2nd gens, the front bumper sags around the corners. Does anyone know the best way to adjust it back straight? Plus today I rolled into a deck post and kinda tweaked my bumper, so I wanna get it back straight tomorrow, and wanted to fix that sagging to.

Mine does the same thing, I found that it is not the bumper that sags but the plastic. The black plastic trim has some kind of adjustable black plastic doodad at both ends that seems to wear out.

You can adjust the bumper some by loosening the brackets that bolt to the frame but it it a pain and usually you can't get it moved far enough. I bet I spent 2 hrs trying to get mine where it should be and it still sags a little.

Hey Box, I raised the plastic with a few new stainless fender washers and locknuts from Fastener's Inc. .50 cents. The stock plastic push nuts are good for one time and turn to junk when you try to readjust them. If we ever run into each other you can check'em out! All my jobs are around the Van Wyck/ Kelly rd area right now. Kurt

Just got done fixing it. There's 6 bolts total that secure the bumper to the truck, so I just loosend all of them pretty loose. The 4 bolts that hold the bumper in the middle are a real pain to get a good angle at, but wasn't to bad. After all the bolts were loose I just grabbed the bumper in the center from the top and pulled up and out pretty hard and it pretty much raised/tilted back to the stock posistion.

Dodge gets respect from me for the bumper design, because last night I started my truck and 'forgot' to shift into nuetral and let the clutch out to let the truck warm up and it rolled straight into a deck support where I park. And just to show how hard the hit was, everyone in the house came out and thought there was a earthquake , nope just me being a lol. The bumper didn't even dent, it just got pushed in and I thought I had to have bent a bumper mount or somthing, but all that happened was the bumper mounts have room for adjusting the bumper, so the mount just shifted position, and I guess over time the bumper just rattled out of posisiton and thats why it was sagging. But now it's almost like stock, which relieved me because I didn't want to buy another bumper after last night, lol.

I backed up into a tree at work and did the same thing. No dents, just the bumper moved a bit so I had to re-align it.
Ive seen some guys with the bolt and washer method of fixing the plastic fender skirt. Looks pretty good. They drill holes at all the clip points and replace with fasteners.

I guess Jeep can't be in the same class as Dodge because I went through 4" of water with my Liberty and the front bumper cover ripped the middle 50% from the inside out. I'd say that was a crappy bumper cover. I know it's a plastic jobber compared to a honkin' peice of steel, but still, very dissapointing.

speaking of bumpers does anyone know where to buy a new back bumper at a resonable price. Mine has a couple of nice dents in it from before I bought it

The bumper can be adjusted. I had my 96 perfect but then I pulled it off when I painted the truck. Now its got the "sag" look again but I've been just too L-A-Z-Y to fix it.
The newer trucks have adjustable plastic that makes it much easier to fix the gap.

These trucks are solid. I never realized how hard the rear bumper actually was until this little dent in it got to me to the point where I took the rear bumper off and tried to hammer the dent back out from the inside. I hammered that thing pretty hard and the dent would barely budge!

Second experience... My mom gets in the truck to back it in the driveway. Next thing I know, there's a hole in the house from the hitch ball. Truck didn't get a scratch. Guess who got to fix it...
