I've got a 01 2500 dodge cummins 145,000miles auto trans. When i shift into reverse the rear white lights do not always turn on. i'm thinking theres a switch somewhere that needs to be adjusted so when the tranny is in rev. it closes the switch to apply power to the lights. If anyone knows the location of that switch or other possibilities the problem could be let me know. It will be appreciated.

Mine did the same thing. After I had the tranny rebuilt, problem fixed.

They actually call it a park neutral switch, but it has the reverse light switch in it as well. Takes a 1" socket IIRC. Just unscrew it and screw the new one in. Might lose about a half quart of ATF or so, so be ready for that!

Well i replaced the switch and the problem is gone. Thanks for the advice vzdude.
