Replacing battery hold down nuts

It's about that time. I already changed the ones on the right battery platform and it was a real pain since I couldn't get the batt platform loose even after removing all the bolts because of plastic retainers in the body.

Any one know how to pop the batt platform retainers that go into side of the truck body ? I'd rather get the battery platform loose for replacing the bolts and nuts for the battery hold down on the left side.

I have a '98 2500 Quadcab, and I removed both tray's today for the same reason, to replace the bolts and retainers. Mine does not have any clips going into the body, but it does have 2 bolts and four nuts that have to be removed. To of the nut have to be removed from underneath. The driver side battery tray has the cruise control screwed to bottom of it, so it has to be removed to get the tray all the way out.

Hope this helps out.......if you still need it.

Thanks,
d
