Removing the dash board
It's outlined in the Chrysler service manual, but---unplug a bunch of wires , unbolt a bunch of bolts by the windsheild, and unbolt some on each side down by the kick panels. Remove or unbolt the steering column and you can remove it. Not much fun, but you can do it.
Go on and get the heater core while you are there. You can lay the dash aside without removing it completely and still get the HVAC box out. It also helps to have an extra pair of hands. You know... someone to hold your beverage container for you. Its a good half day project. 100 to 125 dollar side job for a bud kind of thing. GIT ER DONE!!!
