Recommendations for smoother ride?

Have a 4x4 2500, never really done any work to the suspension. Anyone have any experience with a good shock, spring, or ??? combo that makes these tanks ride a little smoother???

also, if you don't do much heavy towing or hauling, switching to a D load range tire helps. My buddy has D's on his with stock shocks and springs, and I have stock shocks and E's on mine and his rides much better than mine
