Radio static help

I replaced the radio I'm my girlfriends 96 12v, her old radio (aftermarket) was old and she wanted some newer features and the old one was real staticky, after I put the new one in, we still have static. I've checked the antena, from what I can tell its ok. I'm not really sure what else it could be. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated

Does the static change with engine RPM (alternator whine) if not then the antenna is not grounded properly, it's either too loose or the underside of the fender is rusted away.

The static doesnt change with rpm, as long as the truck is sitting still its fine but once you start driving it gets staticky, I'll take a peak at the back side of the fender and see what it looks like, thanks
