Question Question on wheel shims?

I did a front brake job and my drivers side wheel did not have a shim but my passenger side did. Two questions:

1. Is this normal?
2. Should there be a shim on both?

Here is the part number from it 4863760.

Thank you in advance. Srigs

I can't tell you why it is that way, but I have seen several people ask the exact same question, so I guess it is common and normal.

The shim is only used on one side.
The shim was a band-aid type fix Dodge did to prevent pull to one side. Most folks who have removed the shim report it made no difference. Many times the shim will stick to the back of your rim in a tire rotation and end up where it wasn't intended to be, I found one on the rear of a truck once.

This is good information to know. It is normal so I will leave it in place.

Note: I don't have any pulling problems now so I will keep it as is. It is about 1/8 inch in thickness.
