quad cab stiffer than club cab?

I have searched around but haven't found an answer. I am throwing around the idea of a 2nd gen ctd for use as a mild offroad expedition type vehicle. I was wondering if the addition of rear doors in the quad cab gives up any body rigidity to the club cab. Has anyone noticed any more movement or cab flex when the chassis is articulating? the lack of a B pillar seem to me like it would flex more.

My doors touch at the top corners where they meet and chip the paint off. this happened on a rough washboard road I was doing about 50 on in Montana a couple years back. Hadn't happened since I touched it up until I backed a trailer up a logging road over a pretty deep run off ditch. Touched it up again and so far they haven't touched.

I cannot see the quad being as rigid as a Club. Think JEEP/Crewcab longbed, the farther apart the wheels, the more twist you will generate.

My thought is a standard cab would be the best.

IMO, a stiff suspension will tend to put more strain/flex on the frame vs the suspension taking the stress. Look into a long-travel type suspension system.

I agree, I've been all over Baja and SoCal off road hauling a cabover. Never seen or felt any flex. The regular cabs don't have a center support bearing to wear out either.
