QC Doors... (posessed)

Hey folks, Quick question:

Is anybody else out there with a QC having troubles with their doors not working?

I've had a broke door twice now and, had to remove the inside panel to manually activate the lift rods to open the passenger door. It had come off the handle/twist mechanism. It is a real pain in the you know what to remove the door panels (with door closed) and re-attach the lift rods every couple of weeks. One week, I had both doors inop and I was wondering if my truck was made on a monday night near football (like on the tool commercial>..)

I may go to the ******* on this one too, and see if it's a trend item. I may have to buy a new mechanism because it's had enough of my "re-bending" to get the rods to re-attach.

Just wanted to get an Idea if anybody else has had trouble with this same problem.

Thanks for your input...

Pete

P.S. Looking for a good place to buy rear/dual mud flaps too. If you know of a good place/brand to buy, please respond! (I figure this site is full of real life test dummies like me, that know the products out there! )

Re:QC Doors... (posessed)

Yea, yea, yea... I know. I fixed it today- took 30 min, some doorpanel grommets and bailing wire.

I'm just getting tired of fixing it every week! Is this a trend item?

I believe that the warranty is over at 36k on the body. I"m at 56k.

Thanks though, for the "McGyver" reminder. I'm chasing a fuel leak too, maybe someone will chime in...

Pete

Re:QC Doors... (posessed)

I haven't seen anyone on here complain about it, and I never had it happen on the two dodges I have owned. Might want to take it in and have 'em look at it anyway.... at least get an estimate...

Well, Stuck doors never seemed to bother them Duke Boys!
:

Nieghbor down the street mentioned something about that with his QC a few months back.
I'll have to ask him for more details. Its been a while, but I remember him having to replace some linkage.
Sorry for the vagueness. If I see him this week, I'll ask him again.
Rich.

Re:QC Doors... (posessed)

One of my quad doors won't open from the inside. Was hoping there was an adjustment "hole" so I wouldn't have to tear it apart. No such luck...and I'm feeling too lazy to tear it down right now.

If you need some info, just ask and I'll let you know what the best way to get into it is.

I've done it about 5 times, it'll take you about 1 hour and cost you about $10 (dealer) or $4 aftermarket for plastic door retainer "dufers".

Not too hard, just like you said: "Finding time!"

Pete

Re:QC Doors... (posessed)

P.S. If it won't open from the inside, but does from the jamb latch, let me know because I had that problem on my drivers side only and it turned out to be a broken cable: pretty spendy part but I used bailing wire on it and it works fine.

[move]SUPERGLUE AND BAILING WIRE: NOW THAT'S A MCGYVER FIX![/move]

Cheers...
