I've been noticing that couple of weeks that it seems like just after starting in the morning and for a while after, when I come to a stop at a light or sign, I get a pulsating or shuddering in the brakes. Seems to go away after a while, but it is getting more noticeable. Is this a vacuum leak in the pump or a hydroboost issue? Anyone experience anything like this? I hope it's not the vacuum pump. What about the accumulator? Would it do this?

 

Ya, I've had that too. I just replaced my rotors, pads and calipers and haven't had a problem with the shuddering yet...but specifically I don't have an answer for ya. your rotors might be warped or it might be your calipers...just a guess though.
I noticed that you're from South Surrey. Are you coming out to BD dyno days in Abbotsford on Saturday? It should be a good time. Nothing like a free dyno

 

No, I won't be able to go, family in town. I wanted to though, I'd love to get dyno'd. My brake problem isn't a shudder at the rotor, it's actually like a quickly pulsating valve feeling. Very similar to how the ABS feels when it goes off just much less intense. Hope that helped.

 

If it's only happening in the morning then clears up it is likely caused by flash rusting of the drums and rotors when the truck sits overnight. This usually coincides with high humidity and rainfall
As far as I know there is nothing you can do about it except be aware of it and to brake a couple times in the morning before you really need to to rub the rust off.

 

Just talked to the wife as I'm out of town right now, seems like it happens just after startup, anytime. Pulsates quickly for the first couple of brakes then fine after until shut off and sitting for a while again. Don't know if it's long enough to rust.
