Pull a cattle trailer and 20k flatbed, goosenecks. Truck is really stable compared to what I’ve had before. Don’t mind it for just runnin around either, I put on more miles doing that than towing.<br><br>Hey CMN, I didn’t know what to license my truck for when I got it either, put on 36k for now. Mine not so high – farm tags ;D. But … even though we can buy the license can we scale it at the coup???<br><br>[/quote]<br>I am not sure that you would want to pull into the scales unless you have a Class A CDL. YOU might be different with the farm tags. I am working on getting my CDL and already have my permit. Still trying to find a trailer that I can use to take the skills test with. Anyone near St. Louis that will loan a 10k trailer for a day?
Re:pros and cons of dually ownership
I do have a CDL, got them for haz mat years ago but, you know, I don't think I need them for farm tags as long as I'm the owner, not hauling for hire and hauling for farm needs, which I am. Still ... I need to research weight limits for the DOT though as I am going further for stuff now with the Ram and new 20K trailer ;D. I got my CDL before you had to take the driven in a vechicle like your being licensed for.
